The Tootsie Tanner was developed as a convenient mini foot tanning bed that can be used in the comfort of your home. If you play golf, tennis, jog or participate in any outdoor activity, there is an unattractive result: The Dreaded Sock Line!

With the Tootsie Tanner, you can attain a seamless tan from your legs all the way down to your tootsies. You can not control the amount of UVB (burning rays) from natural sunlight. This unit controls both the UVA/UVB ratio and your exposure time.

All components are in compliance with UL and meet performance standards designated by FDA 21CFR1040.20 for sunlamp products. The Tootsie Tanner operates with a standard of 120V/90W.

Q. How does it work?
A. The Tootsie Tanner uses six sunlamp bulbs in the top, which adjusts for your individual sock lines. There is a 30 minute timer with a switch to turn on the bulbs. There is reflective material on the base and around the rear to tan your heels and around your ankle bones.

Q. How often do I need to use the tanner?
A. Initially we recommend that you follow the time table in the instructor manual that is shipped with each Tootsie Tanner. Based on your skin type, you use the tanner a few minutes every other day for about 4 weeks. After the start up process, all you need is once a week for 30 minutes to maintain the tan.

Q. Is it safe?
A. The Tootsie Tanner is U.L. Approved which means that is has passed the rigorous tests for safety by the Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. It is also in compliance with the FDA regulations on sunlamp products.

Q. How big is the Tootsie Tanner?
A. The Tootsie Tanner is 18 inches long by 14 inches wide by 5.5 inches high when the top is in the closed position. It weighs about 12lbs. The tanner can fit easily under a bed or in a closet.

Q. How long will it take for delivery?
A. Our standard lead times are 1-3 days, however, in most cases will ship in less than 3 days from date of order. We ship the Tootsie Tanner by UPS Ground which is 3-5 business days. The day you place an order, you will receive an email with confirmation of your order. When the tanner ships, you will receive an email with the UPS tracking information. We will not bill your credit card until the Tootsie Tanner ships.

Q. When will I need replacement bulbs and where can I get them?
A. The average life of the six sunlamp bulbs that come with the Tootsie Tanner is approximately 300 hours. With steady use, the bulbs will begin to lose their effectiveness in 6-12 months. The bulbs are 15watts and the UVB/UVA ratio is 3%. We sell the replacement bulbs online or by telephone orders. The price is $6 each.

Q. What is a starter, when will I need to replace them and where can I get them?
A. The starter is an electrical component that is used in turning on the sunlamp bulbs. The average life is also about 300 hours, depending on use. The price is $1 each.

Q. Does the Tootsie Tanner really work?
A. You should be able to see results in about 4 weeks. However, if you want to speed up the time table, we recommend the use of accelerator lotions with bronzers. This bronzer can be ordered from our accessories page. We also had it tested by two lady golf professionals (golf instructors), Deb Vangelow and Betsy Cullen. They are endorsing our product because they were completely satisfied with the results.

The Tootsie Tanner was developed by Cathy O'Leary, Pat Craig and Holly Hearrean, three avid Houston golfers who frequently experienced the stark contrast of tan legs and white feet after a round of golf in the Texas sun.

"A group of ladies was visiting after a round of golf one day just staring at our pale feet," Pat recalls. "I said, wouldn't it be great if someone could come up with a way to tan your feet so you'd have an even tan." Her business partner, Cathy O'Leary, president of a Houston electronics manufacturing company, turned to Pat and said, "You come up with the design and I'll see that it gets built." The FDA and UL-approved Tootsie Tanner plugs into a standard wall outlet and includes a built-in timer and automatic shut-off feature.

The unit uses the same technology used in full-length tanning beds and does not emit any of the harmful UVC rays individuals absorb in natural sunlight. The adjustable hood can be placed in one of two settings, depending on the preferred amount of tanning. TheTootsie Tanner comes with a recommended four-week exposure guide. Users should allow two days between tanning sessions until the desired degree of tanning has been attained. Use of the product is not recommended for individuals with fair complexions who tan minimally or not at all.
